As part of Ohio District 9 of Little League International, Anderson Township Little League has the opportunity to form All-Star teams for ages 12, 11 and 9-10. The following is a general outline that describes the experience:
Early May - ATLL managers nominate top players from their teams to try out for the All-Star team for their appropriate age. The manager would first contact the parent to get their approval, and then submit the name of the player(s) to the All-Star Coordinator.
During this time, the Coordinator identifies a coaching staff for each All-Star team, subject to Board approval.
Mid-late May - Tryout
Early June - All-Star coaches and coordinator set up the rosters. Players who do not make the teams are notified.
June 15 - All-Star rosters posted (this is a Little League International rule)
Late June-early July - All-Star team practices begin. Typically practice 5-6 times a week, with some time off for the 4th of July weekend.
District 9 Tournament - Depending on the age, begins between the second and third weekend of July. This is a double-elimination format (team plays until two losses). Winner of District moves on to State. State winner competes in Regionals. Regional winner goes to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
