Q. Does a runner need to slide if there's going to be a play at the base (2nd, 3rd & home)? Sliding

A. Yes. When the ball is headed to the base with the advancing runner. The runner must slide feet first into the base. The ball must be in close proximity to the base and runner. The failure to slide results in the runner being called out.
